UDUPI: Udupi district police have found unauthorised modifications in four firearms during a month-long inspection of weapons held by licence holders across the district. The police checked 2,925 firearms during the drive, which was taken up following the registration of cases involving the use of firearms in the district in recent times. The inspections covered the background of firearm licence holders, the condition of the weapons and whether they had been modified without permission.
